Inspired by the iris of the eye—oculus meaning “eye” in Latin - this piece is part of the Oculus series.

The Oculus series is unique and marks the very beginning of my journey as a full-time artist. These were the first paintings I created to explore the possibility of fully dedicating myself to art, forming the foundation of my artistic expression.

The works were presented in the exhibition “An Artistic Explosion”, shown at Galleri Hamnkrogen in Kalmar during the summer of 2022. The series will later be followed by a continuation in a new body of work.

In this piece, the bird wings symbolize freedom - a recurring theme representing courage, movement, and the ability to rise beyond limitations.

Oculus Gold was awarded “The Jury’s Hearts” in 2022 at the Summer Exhibition at Galleri Stenhallen in Borgholm.
